As soon as you arrive at our facilities and in order to fully enjoy the experience of becoming a Samurai, we will give you a series of safety tips. You can leave your belongings in a safe place so you don’t have to worry about anything else you enjoy during the experience. Then, you will dress in a training jacket and the characteristic garment of the Samurai, the hakama. hakama.
Learning to cut
Once dressed for training and concentrated to carry out a good workout, we will start the training. With a wooden sword (bokken) you will learn the basics of handling the katana , how to handle it, how to position yourself so that the cut is effective, and the cutting technique that you can practice in the air.
Cutting with a real Katana
Once trained the movements with the bokken, we will move to the Katana. A sword with a perfect edge to cut and defend. In this part you will start practicing several times in the air with the real sword. Then we will set foam objectives so you can practice cutting and for the most daring and technical, then you can try cutting with bamboo mats, to do it exactly the same as it is currently done in competitions in Japan. Formerly the Samurai did it with bamboo rods.
